The former goalkeeper of “Chornomorets,” Oleg Bilyk, supported the statements of goalkeeper Oleksiy Shevchenko regarding the former coach of the “seafarers” Roman Grigorchuk.
Oleg Bilyk“I can subscribe to every word of Oleksiy Shevchenko about Grigorchuk. What was happening at trainings and matches was not normal and horrible. Everything Shevchenko said is actually true.
Regarding the squares, the situation is as follows: after the game, there was supposed to be a day off, but Grigorchuk sent everyone who played less than a half or didn’t play at all to train. It was a strange decision to throw us, along with Oleksiy Shevchenko, into the square. Placing goalkeepers in the position of left defenders is also abnormal.
This is considering that at that time in “Chornomorets,” the role of the left defender was very important. The left defender had to run all along the flank, and Shevchenko did that. It’s both funny and surprising. Not only did Shevchenko play in an atypical position for himself.
At trainings, players who were under contract and particularly didn’t fit into Grigorchuk’s plans trained separately on the spare field with assistant coach Oleksiy Antonov, while the son of the head coach trained fully with us, despite having no relation to the team.
Grigorchuk generally barely noticed me. In training and especially in games, there was neither good nor bad. I just existed in the team aimlessly. Such an attitude is horrible. You don’t understand why you’re not playing, some unclear explanations or their complete absence. This year was not very pleasant for me.
The guys supported each other, the collective is wonderful. In a way, this attitude from the coaching staff united us. The fact that 90% of the team had no mutual understanding with the coaching staff represented by Grigorchuk is another matter. Such statements about him can be said not only by Shevchenko or me, but by more than half of that team. There are no such special coaches left in the UPL,” said Bilyk.
