Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez partially confessed to his teammates that during the execution of the "fateful" penalty in the match against Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of the Champions League, he might have touched the ball twice, ESPN reports.

According to the source, after the main referee Szymon Marciniak disallowed Alvarez’s converted penalty, teammates asked Alvarez if there were two touches. To which Alvarez replied: "I don’t know, maybe. I don’t know."
Recall that in the penalty shootout, Julian Alvarez converted a penalty kick that was later canceled after a VAR review. Two touches were recorded during the Argentine's kick. As a result of that confrontation, Atletico lost in the penalty shootout.
