The Munich "Bavaria" has announced the death at the age of 85 of the club’s former president Fritz Scherer.
Fritz Scherer (photo: fcbayern.com)Scherer held the position of treasurer of "Bavaria" from 1979 to 1985, after which he succeeded Willy O. Hoffman as president. He was replaced in this chair by Franz Beckenbauer in 1994. Scherer continued to serve as vice-president until 2012 and was also a member of the supervisory board for many years.
