— What do you think of the current national team of Ukraine? What do you think about the recent results?
— I really like it. In particular, we can take the first match of Ukraine against Belgium, when our guys won 3:1. I also like that there are now guys in the national team from different clubs. That is, there is Sych from «Karpaty», Kalyuzhny from «Oleksandriya», Hutsulyak from «Polissya», and others. This is very good because now you can get into the national team, regardless of which club you play for. But again, I think that Rebrov needs time because he will progress, and together with him, the national team will also progress. This is my personal opinion.
— Do you like the composition of the national team of Ukraine? Who do you consider a leader?
— There are no claims about the composition, all the guys deserve it. I really like the pair of central defenders — Zabarnyi and Mykolenko. I probably consider them as leaders because the confidence they exude is transmitted to the whole team. I think the guys in attack also feel more confident because they know that behind them there is such a wall in the form of Zabarnyi and Matvienko.
— What do you think about Heorhii Sudakov? Can he also be considered a leader?
— I really like his play, he moves very well with the ball. He is actually one of my favorite players. The same can be said about Viktor Tsygankov, who has been doing great in «Girona». Zinchenko, for example, does not have the sweetest situation in his club, but everything is fine for him in the national team. So individually these footballers are very strong, but we need to make a good team out of them.
— Do you think the national team of Ukraine can qualify for the 2026 World Cup?
— I think so. Everything is in their hands.
