The honored coach of Ukraine, Miron Markevych, summed up March in the championship of Ukraine.
— The best team of February-March?
— During this period, Oleksandriya earned the most points, so it would be fair to award them. The Brazilians in Rotan’s team look good. I am also happy for Kostiushin, who managed to establish the play in Kolos. The last match against Zorya looked promising.
— The disappointing team of February-March?
— Well, probably Chornomorets. The Odesa team is currently hopeless. I don’t see how they can save themselves. Maybe Kuchер will do something, but on the other hand — he didn’t assemble this team and didn’t prepare it. It will be very hard.
— How do you evaluate Rakitsky’s return to big football? He has already debuted for Chornomorets, but it’s unlikely that this match can be considered an achievement.
— I hope he will help his former partner in Shakhtar and the national team — Kuchер. Time will tell. It will be a shame if the football city of Odesa loses its team in UPL.
— The best coach of February-March?
— I will award Rotan. He deserves it because Oleksandriya shows stable play under his leadership.
— Is Rotan ready for a new challenge, for example, to move up to Shakhtar? Earlier, Srna said that among Ukrainian specialists he is particularly fond of Ruslan Petrovich.
— Rotan is progressing well, but right now he needs to finish the season in Oleksandriya on a high note, not think about anything else. Oleksandriya is contending for the championship title and needs to push through to the end. Rotan is a serious guy and won’t react to any gossip.
— The best player of February-March?
— I will highlight Buyalsky; he has always impressed me. A creative player near the penalty area who can play unconventionally. We have few such players. Today Buyalsky is the best player of Dynamo. It’s no coincidence that Shovkovskiy is betting on him. Vitalii can score and assist. If he played even better in qualifying, no one would underestimate him.
Why hasn’t he made his breakthrough in the national team? There is high competition there: Zinchenko, Sudakov, Malynovskyi.
— The best Ukrainian legionnaire of February-March?
— It’s encouraging that Yaremchuk has started scoring for Olympiakos, so I will acknowledge him. As far as I know, he worked hard in recent months, and his efforts are beginning to bear fruit.
— Give a prediction for the final top-3 of UPL?
— Probably, everything will stay the same. Champion — Dynamo. Second place — Oleksandriya. Third — Shakhtar. I don’t know how Shakhtar can push Oleksandriya out of second place. It seems that the Donetsk team has qualified players, but there is no cohesive play; everyone runs for themselves. I believe that Obolon should not have lost to Shakhtar. The brewers looked no worse, especially in the second half. I don’t know what is happening with Shakhtar; right now they look very uncertain.
