The goalkeeper of “Dynamo” Valentin Morgun, for whom the quarter-final match of the Ukrainian Cup against Lviv “Rukh” was his debut with the first team of the “white-blues”, commented on the victory of Kyiv and told how they managed not to concede:
— We achieved victory, and at this moment we completed our task — we moved on, now we will wait for the next opponent and prepare for them. Of course, we do not forget about our tasks in the Ukrainian championship.
— Did you feel nervous before stepping onto the field in your first match?
— Of course, there was a sense of responsibility, which resulted in some of my unclear decisions, as well as technical errors. But overall, I prepared myself for such an intense match. We understood that we were playing in the Cup, and everything would be decided in one game. The price of a mistake was very high.
— At the end of the match, you made a few saves that were crucial for the team, do you feel more confident after that?
— It’s nice to save the balls, but that’s my job. If we hadn’t scored, my saves wouldn’t have helped — we would have played extra time or it would have gone to penalty shootouts. So it’s hard for me to answer this question. We scored, we won — thanks to Oleksandr Pikhaliok and all the guys. Today was a tough game, it was a battle. Besides, the condition of the field was somewhat hindering us.
