“Dear Manchester. Upon seeing this message, you likely understood what it’s about. I’ll say it plainly — these months will be my last as a player for Manchester City. It’s hard for me to talk about, but we all know that this day will come. It has come, and you deserve to hear it from me.

Football brought me to you and to this city. I followed a dream, not knowing it would change my life. This city. This club. These people. They gave me everything. I had no choice but to give them everything back. We won everything!

Like it or not, it’s time for us to say goodbye. My family and I are grateful to this city. Manchester will forever be in my children’s hearts. It will always be our home. We can’t thank the club, the city, the staff, the partners, friends, and family enough for these 10 years.

Every story ends, but this one was definitely the best chapter. Let’s enjoy the last moments together,” wrote De Bruyne on his Instagram page.

To remind you, as part of Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne played 413 matches, winning a total of 16 trophies! The Belgian also has 106 goals and 174 assists to his name.
