“There’s definitely no need to be afraid of Dynamo. God willing, we’ll make it to the final!” — midfielder of Bukovyna

Midfielder of Chernivtsi’s Bukovyna Yuriy Hlushchuk shared his expectations about the clash between his club and Kyiv’s Dynamo in the 1/2 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.

Yuriy Hlushchuk

— Yuriy, tell us if the emotions after the match with Victoria have “settled” and if the players had any time to celebrate the historic victory in the quarterfinals of the Ukrainian Cup?

— To be honest, after the match I came home and almost immediately went to bed. (Smiles). On the field, we gave a lot of emotions, so I reconsidered everything after resting. The victory over Victoria and advancing to the semifinals of the Ukrainian Cup is a historic moment for all of us.

— How can you comment on the draw for the semifinals of the Ukrainian Cup, which means we will face Kyiv’s Dynamo?

— Excellent! We live and play for such matches! I’m sure that fans are eagerly waiting for matches against opponents like Dynamo. There’s definitely no need to be afraid of the opponent, because if we are afraid and worry, nothing good will come of it. (Smiles). We need to go out on the field and show our game. God willing, we’ll also make it to the final!

— Will the match against the capital club be special for you, considering the fact that you are a Kyivite who studied at the Academy of Donetsk Shakhtar?

— Not really, that’s already a turned page. When I was still playing for Shakhtar’s youth teams, such clashes were principled. You could lose to anyone but not Dynamo! I have many friends from Kyiv who, of course, cheer for Dynamo. But now they will cheer for Bukovyna, that’s 100%. (Smiles).
