Bayer’s sporting director Fernando Carro commented on the future of the team’s head coach Xabi Alonso.

"Honestly, I would have preferred for “Real” to convincingly beat “Arsenal”, and his position as coach would be safe. It’s normal in football that if a club like “Real” loses 3:0 to “Arsenal” in the quarter-finals, rumors start. Therefore, I would like to avoid these rumors and speculations through a confident victory for “Real”.

We have a good relationship with Xabi and we can talk about everything. He has a contract and feels very comfortable; we are planning with Xabi for the next season, pre-season, games, and team prospects,” Carro is quoted by Sky Sport Germany.
