“Shakhtar” - first, “Dynamo” - third: the supercomputer modeled the standings of the Eastern European Super League

The BETSiE supercomputer predicted the appearance of the standings of the conditional Eastern European Super League, formed from clubs of Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia (5 teams from each country - a total of 20 tournament participants).

In modeling this peculiar ranking, the supercomputer took into account numerous factors. The most important indicators were expected goals (xG), market value of teams and individual players (data from Transfermarkt), as well as the Elo rating (ranking system for national teams).

As a result, in this conditional standings from Ukraine were Donetsk “Shakhtar” (1st place), Kyiv “Dynamo” (3rd), Zhytomyr “Polesie” (11th), Lviv “Karpaty” (13th) and “Alexandria” (14th).
