Ukrainian goalkeeper of Benfica Anatoliy Trubin had a remarkable match in the 30th round of the Portuguese Championship, saving all shots on goal and helping his team win away against Gimarães with a score of 3:0. The victory was already the 23rd for the Lisbon team this season, and the Ukrainian himself matched his personal record for the number of saves in the Primeira.
During the match, the Ukrainian made six saves — and all six shots from Gimarães missed the target.
"Trubin made several brilliant saves. His contribution was very important, as was the work of the entire team,” praised Benfica head coach Bruno Lage after the match.
For Trubin, this was one of his best matches of the season. By the number of saves, he matched his best achievement in the Portuguese Championship — six. He only did as many in matches against AFS and Barcelona, while he made more (9) only in a game against Bayern in the Champions League.
After this victory, the Eagles remained in second place in the table, trailing Sporting on head-to-head encounters while tied on points.
