Vladislav Kabaiev: "During the break of the match against Bukovina, there was a recommendation to change the studs"

The midfielder of Kyiv's Dynamo, Vladislav Kabaiev, commented on his team's victory over Chernivtsi's Bukovina (4:1) in the semi-final match of the Ukrainian Cup.

Vladislav Kabaiev

— In the match between Bukovina and Dynamo, there were two different halves. How did it look from the bench and then directly in the game?

— When you sit on the bench, you are probably even more nervous than the guys on the field. We watched how Bukovina played. A big respect to the Chernivtsi team not only for the first half but for the entire match as well. I know many players of Bukovina, they play at a very good level. Dynamo did not perform at their level in the first half, but it is worth giving credit to Bukovina.

I would also like to mention the Bukovina fans. A large number of people came to Lviv to support their home team. The fans at the stadium created a wonderful atmosphere, for this I express my great respect and personal thanks, it was truly incredible. Bukovina played a good match, made us nervous. Of course, we cannot count the first half as an advantage, but we played quite well in the second half.

— What did Oleksandr Shovkovskyi say during the break? After all, a completely different team came out for the second half.

— To be honest, I do not know what instructions Oleksandr Volodymyrovych gave and what exactly he said, because I was preparing to enter the game just after the break and at that moment I was actively warming up on the field. I only know that there was a recommendation to change the studs, as there were moments in the first half when we could not stand properly on our feet in some game episodes. It is clear that the coaching staff made certain adjustments, and substitutions were also made. In the second half, Bukovina continued to play their football, the Chernivtsi team did not sit deep in defense. I think this also played to our advantage.
