“Dynamo” striker No. 11 enters the penalty area and drives the ball past defender No. 3 of “Obolon,” who extends his right leg in an attempt to play the ball, but he fails to do so. A clear penalty and no disciplinary sanctions, as the defender was indeed trying to play the ball.
Procedure for the penalty. We must remind how important it is to stay outside the penalty area until the moment of contact with the ball, as the video assistant referee will check for player interference in the event of a saved penalty.
In this case, if the shot was saved and the ball went to player No. 10 of “Dynamo,” the referee (Oleksandr Shandor — note) would have to penalize for the hasty entrance into the penalty area with a free kick.
