“In each of the remaining rounds, we will fight for victory,” - the head coach of "Polesie" before the match with "Dynamo"

The head coach of Zhytomyr “Polesie” Imad Ashur before the home match against Kyiv “Dynamo” in the 28th round of the Ukrainian championship spoke about the goals that his team aims to achieve in the final stretch of the championship.

Imad Ashur

“Everyone in our team wants to bring this season to a logical conclusion. We reached the semifinals of the Ukrainian Cup, where we lost to the champion of the country, Shakhtar, only in extra time, and in regular time - once again did not allow the miners to beat us - for this, we are certainly not ashamed.

It is very important now to find reserves of energy within ourselves to fight for victory in each of the remaining rounds of the championship. But it will be difficult for us: besides personnel problems, fatigue is already accumulating, including - mental.

And this is not only due to some physical loads but more because of the events that took place in our recent matches. Starting with the match against “Levy Bereg” (1:1, - note. ed.), in which we had a bunch of missed opportunities. “Shakhtar” drained us physically and mentally (1/2 of the Ukrainian Cup semifinals, 0:1 in extra time, - note. ed.). The match with “Kolos” (1:1, - note. ed.): again in the first half, a lot of moments that we should have realized and “closed” the game.

This affects us the most - the fact that we do not “close” matches in which we look decent. After such a game, you cannot tell the guys that they did not put in enough effort. And the fact that we did not score at a certain moment - this is something we cannot predict and cannot influence during the game,” - Ashur said in a comment to the press service of “Polesie”.
