U.S. President Donald Trump today, during one of his numerous self-absorbed “interactions” with the press, suddenly revealed a complete lack of awareness on the topic of football.
Trump was asked about the exclusion of the “Russian national team” from the 2026 World Cup, which is set to take place in three countries — the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“I didn’t know about that. Is it true? — said Trump at a joint briefing with FIFA President Gianni Infantino. — I am not the boss on this issue. He is the boss. Peace is possible, and participation in the World Cup could be a good incentive for resolving the conflict.”
