Dynamo just needs not to lose to Chernomorets in the next round of UPL to become the champion of Ukraine

Today's defeat of Alexandria by Lviv's Karpaty (1:2) in the 28th round of the Ukrainian championship has brought Kyiv's Dynamo closer to winning the gold medals of the current season of UPL.

With two rounds left until the end of the championship, the capital team continues to lead and now is five points ahead of Alexandria. Thus, in the next round, in an away match against Odessa's Chernomorets, Dynamo could secure the championship, and for that, they just need not to lose.

If the Dynamo players do not defeat the sailors and draw instead, Alexandria can at best only equal the points with Dynamo, but even then Ruslan Rotan's team would remain in second place because they trail the "white-blues" in head-to-head results — 0:0, 0:3.

At the same time, the results of the 28th round have left Donetsk Shakhtar with chances for the final second place: the miners, who, as before, occupy the third position in the tournament table, are five points behind Alexandria, but in the event of a tie in points, they will rank above the "city team" based on head-to-head results (3:4, 3:0).

Finally, there is a high intrigue in the battle for the fourth place, which grants a ticket to the conference league next season. Three teams continue to compete for this position: Karpaty, Polessie, and Kryvbas.

The tournament standings of the leading group of the Ukrainian championship two rounds before the end of the championship

3. Shakhtar — 58

4. Karpaty — 46
