Former player and head coach of Kyiv’s “Dynamo” Yozhef Sabo shared his impressions about the next, already the thirtieth championship for the “white-blues”. It was won in the match of the 29th round of the Ukrainian Championship in Odesa, where Alexander Shovkovsky’s team played to a draw, 1:1, with “Chornomorets”.
Yozhef Sabo— I congratulate Dynamo players on receiving gold medals. Well done. I support Dynamo because it is my club. Moreover, Shovkovsky is my boyfriend there. I brought him into the team when he was 17 or 18 years old.
If we talk about our championship, then the football that the teams demonstrate is not the football I would like to see. I enjoy watching the championships of England, France, and other leading football countries, whose clubs play completely differently.
— The fate of “Chornomorets” was also revealed in the Odesa match, which lost all chances of staying in the top tier one round before the finish.
— It’s a pity. It’s a pity that a team with such traditions is relegating... It’s disappointing. Couldn’t anything have been done earlier in Odesa to prevent this? It’s a big city, and the beautiful stadium is all there. I don’t know who runs the club there. Something had to be done immediately when the first alarming bell rang. But instead, everything was left to chance—this led to the relegation. It’s a pity… But let’s hope that Odesa will spend a year in the lower division, but will return to the Premier League again afterwards.
— Recently, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced suspicion of aiding the Russian army by former player of Donetsk “Shakhtar” and the Ukrainian national team Anatoliy Tymoshchuk. What do you say about this?
— He is currently in Russia, there is a war, and he will not be extradited. It’s such a bastard that his way to Ukraine is already closed. And now—more so.
