English Liverpool officially announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong, according to the press service of the reds.
“Everything went quite smoothly. Liverpool reached out and expressed their interest, I had no hesitation. I told my agents: ‘Just make it happen’. Liverpool fans, I will do my best, I will give all my energy and hard work. I hope we will win together, celebrate together, do everything together.
I am just thrilled to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me. I won’t let you down and will give you the energy you want,” quotes Frimpong the press service of Liverpool.
At Liverpool, Frimpong will be called upon to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who decided not to continue his contract with his home club.
In four and a half seasons at Leverkusen, Frimpong scored 30 goals and provided 44 assists in 190 matches, winning the Bundesliga title and the German Cup with Bayer last season.
