New Zealand coach Bayliss: "We felt what level is needed"

Head coach of the New Zealand national team Darren Bayliss commented on the defeat to the Ukrainian national team (1:2) at the Canadian tournament.

— Such matches are very useful for us, we lack similar contests. Our team and players have not had enough games where they could feel real competition, and I believe that in the last two matches they finally felt it. They felt what level is needed to compete at this stage.

The boys fought quite well in these two games, and now we can move forward with an understanding of what still needs to be worked on, but at the same time with confidence in those moments that we have already done very well, — said Bayliss.
