Oleksandr Kovpak: "Let’s see if this Turk will shake up Shakhtar"

Famous Ukrainian ex-striker and coach Oleksandr Kovpak commented on the dismissal of coaches in the 2nd and 3rd teams of the Ukrainian championship.

— On the one hand, some say that this move by Rotan is illogical. But let’s be frank: Rotan has outgrown the level of "Oleksandriya"; he needs a more powerful project, which is definitely "Polissya." Ruslan has a deep understanding of football, he continuously progresses, he is one of the top coaches who always shows results and knows what he wants. He wants to be a champion, and he will be one. I do not rule out that with "Polissya."

The "miners" have their ideology — their coach must necessarily be a foreigner. That’s their feature. I think if Rotan was on their shortlist, he was far behind the first trio. Shakhtar needed changes, as Pushich achieved nothing. Although when he just started working with the Donetsk team, all the players were thrilled with him, saying it was so easy and simple with him. But no results — no coach. Let’s see if this Turk will shake up Shakhtar, — Kovpak said.
