The former midfielder of Manchester United and the England national team, David Beckham, underwent surgery due to a chronic wrist injury, reports The Sun.
The reason for the surgical intervention was a fracture sustained back in May 2003 during a friendly match of the England national team against South Africa. At that time, doctors placed a special screw in the athlete’s forearm, which was supposed to dissolve over time, but did not.
Over the years, Beckham periodically experienced pain, but in recent months the discomfort intensified so much that surgery became necessary. News of the intervention only became public after his wife Victoria published a photo of her husband on a hospital bed on social media with the caption: “Get well soon, daddy.”
