Madrid’s Atletico announced on its official website the transfer of Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena.
The parties signed a contract for five years. As Fabrizio Romano writes on Twitter, the transfer of the 23-year-old footballer cost the "mattress makers" 45 million euros, plus 5 million euros as potential bonuses.
In the past season, Baena played 33 matches for Villarreal in the Spanish championship, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.
