In Vinnytsia, the parents of the combat medic Valentyn Prisiich built a football field in memory of their son.
Valentyn volunteered to defend Ukraine in 2022. He was a combat medic of the 95th Air Assault Brigade. He was killed by an enemy sniper while saving the lives of his comrades in Donetsk.
A resident of Vinnytsia loved to play football with friends since childhood, and as he grew older, he supported the Vinnytsia football club "Nyva". There had never been a professional football field in his native Khutor Shevchenka, so his parents decided to create one in memory of their son with government funding.
In the place where thickets used to grow, relatives cleared the area. They leveled it, covered it with gravel and screenings, and laid artificial turf so that the children could comfortably play football. Benches were installed for relaxation, and trees were planted. Near the stadium, the parents set up a memorial stele in the shape of an open book, which their son loved to read.
