The End of Modric’s Era: Luka Says Goodbye to “Real” After 13 Years

The legendary captain of “Real” Luka Modric said goodbye to the club after a 0:4 loss to PSG in the semifinals of the Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

This decision was backed by an official statement: Modric’s contract expires after the tournament, and after that he will join “Milan”. During his 13 years with the “Whites,” the Croatian midfielder played about 597 games.

Modric leaves “Real” as a player with the most trophies in the 123-year history of the club. He won 28 trophies — including six Champions Leagues and was awarded the Ballon d’Or in 2018.

Luka confirmed that he will leave the “santiago” with “a full heart” and will forever remain a “madridista” at heart.
