It became known who will play in the Europa League instead of Crystal Palace

As previously reported, due to a conflict of interest among the owners, Crystal Palace will not be able to compete in the Europa League in the 2025/2026 season.

The reason is that the rights to the London club and the French Lyon belong to one businessman — John Textor. According to UEFA rules, clubs with the same owner cannot simultaneously participate in one European competition.

Instead of Palace, Nottingham Forest will play in the tournament, reports BBC. The team, which finished the season seventh in the EPL, was set to start in the Conference League but will now get a chance to compete in the Europa League.

UEFA has granted Crystal Palace the right to appeal, but the decision remains in effect for now. Recall, the Londoners secured a European cup spot thanks to their victory in the FA Cup.
