The former coach of Kyiv’s Dynamo Mircea Lucescu explained how he ended up at yesterday’s friendly match of his former team against the Romanian “Corvinul” (0:0), where he also spent part of his career (Lucescu played for Corvinul and started his coaching career there).
“I happened to be here by chance. I was in Austria for three days and learned that such a match would take place. “Dynamo” is the last club I coached, and “Corvinul” is the team of my life, so I came to watch this match.
No matter which team I coached, I always aimed to play against strong opponents. Such matches change players’ mindsets. Therefore, I congratulate “Corvinul” on being able to secure such a match; it’s good luck — “Dynamo” had no sparring partner for this day,” Lucescu said in a comment to the press service of “Corvinul”.
