Igor Tsyganyk: “Mudryk will serve another year. Around March-April 2026, he will be allowed to train with the team”

Famous Ukrainian sports commentator Igor Tsyganyk shared his thoughts on the development of the doping story surrounding Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk of London’s Chelsea. It should be noted that the player’s “B” sample also returned a positive result, and the Football Association of England charged the Ukrainian with violating anti-doping rules.

“I feel sorry for him. Mentally, it is very difficult for him, especially at his age (24 years). He should have close people by his side now, preferably family, who could support him morally. He needs to accept it and forget it, as if it were a terrible nightmare.

I think he still has a decent career ahead of him, despite this doping scandal. I believe Mudryk will serve another year, the next season. Somewhere around March-April 2026, I assume, he will be allowed to train with the team. I’m not sure if it will be with Chelsea, because by that time Maresca may have built a team where Mykhailo won’t have a place, and it will be very difficult to fit in.

I am convinced that there will still be many court cases ahead. Most likely, Chelsea will demand compensation, and I do not rule out that Shakhtar will also seek compensation for the bonuses not received,” said Tsyganyk.
