A training camp for referees and assistant referees of the UPL took place in Kyiv

From July 15 to 18, a training camp for referees and assistant referees who will work in the matches of the Ukrainian Premier League in the 2025/2026 season was held in the capital of Ukraine.

As part of the camp organized by the Referees Committee of UAF, a number of theoretical and practical sessions were conducted, as well as a mandatory FIFA fitness test. The program covered all key aspects of refereeing, including:

— pedagogical testing on the Laws of the Game and a UEFA video test;

— studying the psychological aspects of the work of football referees;

— consideration of regulatory issues and organizational matters regarding UPL matches;

— individual theoretical sessions;

— analysis of current requirements and interpretations from FIFA, UEFA, and UAF regarding specific game episodes (handball, confrontations, simulations, delays, offsides, etc.);

— role-playing games with elements of physical training;

— familiarization with the changes to the Laws of the Game for the 2025/2026 season;

— discussion of current requirements for VAR (Video Assistant Referee) operations and analysis of the functioning of the VAR system in national competitions.

Special attention was paid to raising the standards of refereeing in accordance with the latest recommendations from international institutions.
