Midfielder of Kyiv’s Dynamo Vitaliy Buyalsky shared his expectations for the first match of the second qualifying round of the Champions League against Maltese Hamrun Spartans during the pre-match press conference.
— How do you assess your own condition and the team’s condition before the first official match of the season? How well prepared are you?
— We had a very good training camp. First in Kyiv, then in Austria. In my opinion, we are 100% prepared. However, our problem is that we have not yet had official matches, so we will do the same things we did at the training camp. In terms of physical and tactical aspects, I think we have significantly improved and become much better than last year.
— During the training camp in Austria, there were hot days; it seems the game in Malta will also take place in such weather. How will this affect the game?
— I think we had a good training camp in Austria, including physically, so we will be able to maintain the pace that the head coach will require for all 90 minutes. He will give instructions for the game and tell us how we will act in tomorrow’s match.
— What is your opinion about the opponent? Did you watch any matches of Hamrun Spartans?
— The coaching staff provided us with complete information. Today we analyzed their match, and also tomorrow before the game the coaches will explain in detail how we will act in defense and attack. We know that our opponent defends very well and counterattacks. So we will try to allow him to do this as little as possible during the match.
