“Despite the historical achievement, it cannot be said that Hamrun Spartans demonstrated class,” said the journalist

Famous Ukrainian journalist, commentator, and serviceman Roberto Morales shared his opinion about the opponent of Kyiv’s Dynamo in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League — Maltese Hamrun Spartans.

“The team led by Giacomo Modica was able to perform almost a miracle in the previous round of the Champions League qualifying, coming back after an away defeat of 0:2 to Lithuanian ‘Zalgiris’ and winning in the penalty shootout with a score of 11:10. This allowed the club to reach the second qualifying round for the first time in the current format of the tournament. However, despite the historical achievement, it cannot be said that ‘Hamrun Spartans’ truly demonstrated class.

In this team, particular attention should be paid to midfielder Saliu Tioune, who scored in the return match against ‘Zalgiris’, as well as 36-year-old goalkeeper Henry Bonello, who continues to be called up to the national team of Malta,” said Morales.

Let us remind you, the first match between Dynamo and Hamrun Spartans will take place today in Malta, and a week later, on July 29, the opponents will play in Lublin.
