Midfielder of Kyiv’s Dynamo Volodymyr Brazhko shared his thoughts on the victory over Hamrun Spartans in the second match of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League during an interview with FootballHub.
— We play every match for the win. Today, the players who play less got a chance to show themselves. It was also important to win for the UEFA ranking. Right now, these victories are very needed.
— What conclusions have you drawn for yourself after this match?
— In each match, we achieve something, and sometimes we don’t. We are trying to improve with each game.
— Did the opponent create any problems for you?
— I think we did not play well defensively during set pieces in the first match. But the coaching staff pointed out our mistakes, and we performed better in today’s match. There is always room for growth.
— Did you feel a difference between the quality of the pitches in Malta and here in Poland?
— There was more synthetic field there, with some grass in places. And here in Lublin, the pitch is wonderful; it’s very pleasant to play. This helped us a lot.
— You didn’t hold back your emotions during the celebration of your goal...
— Indeed, there were emotions; it’s always nice to score a goal. For me, it was very important to score a goal now, as I have played very little in the last six months, so it was a cry of the soul (laughs — ed.). I’m joking. I needed this goal.
— How do you find the atmosphere in the stadium?
— Very good. Right now, such a time is important for us; every fan matters: whether in the stadium or by the television screen. Thank you very much for the support from each of you.
— Do you generally like it in Lublin?
— Yes, of course. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot play in Kyiv at our stadium. I like everything in Poland, but I hope we will return to Kyiv as soon as possible.
— Have you already thought about opponents in the next round?
— We prepare for each match individually. There was preparation for Hamrun; now we are focused on the match in the Ukrainian championship.
