Barcelona President Joan Laporta commented on the upcoming Ballon d'Or after the victory over Como (5:0) in the Joan Gamper Cup final.
"The player who will remain at Barça and continue to be the main star of the team is Lamin Yamal. He showed another impressive game. I believe the Ballon d'Or should go to a Barça player. We have four nominees.
Lamin is a true genius; he demonstrates this in every game. He has what is inherent only to those who win the Ballon d'Or. He plays as he trains and gets better and better each time," Laporta is quoted by Goal.
Additionally, France Football magazine officially published the list of nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, which includes four representatives from Barcelona: Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Pedri, and Lamin Yamal.
