The head coach of "Barcelona," Hansi Flick, expressed confidence that the club will register key players, including newcomers Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford, before the opening match of the La Liga against Mallorca on Saturday.
Despite difficulties with financial fair play, the coach believes the situation will be resolved in time. "I am not satisfied with the current situation, but I believe in the club. We must focus on what we can change and wait for tomorrow," said Flick.
"Barcelona" still has problems with player registration due to strict La Liga rules, as transfer and salary expenses have exceeded income in recent seasons. Part of the issue was resolved thanks to an agreement with captain Marc-André ter Stegen, who after an injury ultimately agreed to a medical protocol that allowed for an 80% reduction in his salary burden. The departure of defender Inigo Martinez to Al-Nassr also played a role in freeing up space in the books.
Flick acknowledged that the loss of experienced Martinez was an unpleasant surprise, as he was an important figure in defense and a great partner in the locker room. "I was a bit surprised, but I completely understand him. I am not happy that he left because he is a fantastic player and a wonderful person," said the coach. He emphasized that the main goal now is to get ter Stegen back in shape and ensure an optimal squad for the start of the season.
