Former PSG striker Guillaume Oaro shared his impressions of the game of PSG newcomer Illia Zabarnyi.
“What stood out to me the most was that Zabarnyi had enough strength to stay in the game, and ultimately he did quite a good job. Illia moved from a very tense league where the defense feels enormous pressure, and now he plays in a team that has the ball 80% of the time.
The changes for him are significant, the context is completely different, and he needs to stay at peak form to not miss those rare moments when he has to intervene. But I think that if Luis Enrique put him on the field with such little training, especially pairing him with a player like Beraldo, who has less experience than Marquinhos or Pacho, it’s because he was confident in his ability to adapt.
Obviously, we will have to look at Zabarnyi against a more attacking team. When I interviewed Illia after the match, I felt that he was relaxed. Sometimes players who have just come to a new club feel a certain tension. But not him. He comes from a club that was in the middle of the Premier League table to a Champions League winner without feeling any pressure. That’s an interesting trait of character,” quotes Oaro as reported by the Telegram channel “Vzbіrna” referencing Le Parisien.
