Former forward of Poltava’s Vorskla, Sergey Chuychenko, talked about what he expects from the first match between Kyiv’s Dynamo and Israeli Maccabi (Tel Aviv) in the playoff round of the Europa League qualification, which will take place today in the Serbian city of Bačka Topola.
“Of course, I believe that the Dynamo players will show their best qualities and will manage to ensure that no heroic efforts will be necessary in the return leg. The recipe is simple: strict adherence to the coach’s setup, gameplay discipline, dedication, and maximum concentration until the final whistle. I am confident that if we see all this in the Kyiv team’s performance against Maccabi, then a positive result is inevitable.
“Dynamo has already owed its fans after being eliminated from the Champions League following matches against Cypriot Paphos. Therefore, in the match against the Israelis, they need to rehabilitate themselves.
Interestingly, the team from Cyprus has tripped up both of the current opponents in the most important European tournament. In July, they knocked Maccabi out of the competition, and in August – Dynamo. Now, for each of the teams, winning this next two-legged duel, but in the Europa League, is a matter of honor,” said Chuychenko.
