Former forward of Kyiv’s Dynamo Artem Milevskyy commented on the defeat of the Kyiv team to Maccabi (1:3) in the Europa League, the loss of Polissia to Fiorentina (0:3) and Shakhtar’s draw with Servette (1:1) in the Conference League.
— Artem, I know that during yesterday’s matches you organized a stream with Aliyev on Twitch.
— Yes. We set up an express bet on five matches. Shakhtar didn’t make it. With 0:1 in favor of Servette, we placed a bet on the victory of the Donetsk team, but we were a bit unlucky, although the miners created more than enough chances. This can still be understood, but what is happening with my native team Dynamo is hard to explain.
— Let’s talk about the match against Maccabi. Why did Dynamo look so passive?
— I don’t know, it’s hard for me to say what is happening with the team. I am not at the club, I’m not the team captain, I’m not Yarmolenko, not Buyalsky. Today’s game of Dynamo doesn’t please many fans. There are many questions about the game. I don’t want to say anything bad or good, just trying to understand it like an ordinary Dynamo supporter from the outside.
I don’t know what the guys have in their heads. They beat the Maltese, and it seems like they created a big celebration, everyone is going out ‘ha-ha-ha, hi-hi-hi’. And what then? You watch and think: why even play in European cups? Just play in the Ukrainian championship.
— What do you think is the problem with the current Dynamo?
— The players simply have no character. Sometimes I watch matches with Spartak, and if I compare them to the games of the current Dynamo, I want to cry. It’s a pity that it all happens like this. And it’s not about logistics, as some Dynamo players say. You receive big money and you should be responsible for the result with your head. And logistics, a tough road, trains — these are not excuses that should be valid at such a level.
Yarmola played 400 games for Dynamo, and the guys ‘greeted’ him with a 1:3 against Maccabi. It’s shameful.
— What do you say about Vyvcharenko’s red card?
— Well, where was he flying?! It’s raining, the field is slippery, VAR! Aliyev told me right away: “That’s a clear red card.” After the red card, it became even harder for Dynamo.
— What did you and Aliyev say to each other after the final whistle?
— We didn’t even finish watching the match, we left somewhere around the 70th minute. We said nothing, we don’t discuss such moments. During the game, we had a misunderstanding: what’s happening? We sat with puzzled faces.
I was at the award ceremony for Dynamo receiving gold medals of the UPL in May. Everyone was happy, celebrating the victory in the championship with children and wives. I heard from Buyalsky and other guys how they shouted then: “We will show in European cups!”. And what’s the result? Guys, seriously?
I understand that Dynamo is not playing at home, without fans. But Maccabi has the same situation, and they beat you.
— Do you believe there can be a miracle in the second match and Dynamo wins with a boring score?
— We’ll see. After such a game, I don’t want to make any predictions.
— Did you enjoy Shakhtar’s game?
— I watched Shakhtar’s game with one eye, more focused on the Dynamo match. Shakhtar had a lot of chances, shots, but nothing went in. It happens. I think in the second match everything will be fine, and the miners will advance.
— And a few words about Polissia’s defeat to Fiorentina.
— Fiorentina hasn’t even started their championship, and they are already in good shape. Even in the minority, the violets won easily on class. Before the match, Filipov, such a trump card, said: “We respect Fiorentina, but we are not afraid.” You’re not afraid, that’s clear, but look at the score on the board.
I wish Rotan a good time in Italy. I respect him very much and wish him only success. The result will not weigh down Polissia anymore, so in Florence, they just need to play for their pleasure.
