Andriy Shevchenko: "The day will come when the Ukrainian national team will play its home match truly at home"

UAF President Andriy Shevchenko congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of Independence of Ukraine.

Andriy Shevchenko

"Today we celebrate the 34th Independence Day of Ukraine. First of all, we thank our defenders and protectors, heroes and heroines, who earn our independence on the battlefield every day. We thank our international partners who defend peace in Ukraine.

In these difficult times for our country, the involvement of every Ukrainian in the world in our common idea is very important. It is important to feel one’s complete belonging to the great Ukrainian nation and responsibility for its future.

Today, during a years-long war, we have proven that we are capable not just of enduring. In the hardest times for the country—we are developing, launching new projects, reforming. We are laying the foundation for the future. This is independence—work and development, even in difficult conditions.

Behind me is the NSC "Olympiyskiy". The entrance to the stadium is currently closed. But we are certain—the day will come when our Ukrainian national team will play its home match and truly at home.

And there will be our 35th Independence Day, and the 36th, and all the subsequent ones. Ukraine—forever. And every day we will become only stronger.

Ukraine is above EVERYTHING! Glory to Ukraine!"—it is stated in a message on the official UAF Facebook page.
