Today, the world was gifted several notable individuals closely associated with football:

Alexander Ishchenko

Alexander Ishchenko (1953) — honored coach of Ukraine. Currently heads the youth football school of Kyiv’s Dynamo named after V. Lobankovsky. He was part of the coaching staff of the Ukraine national youth team, which became the silver medalist of Euro-2006.

Gerard Houllier (1947−2020) — former French footballer, more famous for his coaching career. Played for clubs such as Liverpool (England), Yucelle and Le Tuke (both — France). During his time, Houllier managed English Liverpool, PSG, Lyon, as well as the youth and junior national teams of France. In 2001, he was named UEFA Coach of the Year. At one point, Houllier could have led Kyiv’s Dynamo, but due to health issues, he never signed an agreement with the Kyiv team.

Paolo Montero (1971) — former Uruguayan footballer who played as a defender. Best known for his performances with Turin’s Juventus, where he is considered one of the most respected defenders in the club’s history. Four-time champion and two-time winner of the Italian Supercup. Montero also won the UEFA Supercup and the Intercontinental Cup. As part of the Uruguay national team, Montero played 61 matches and scored 5 goals.
