Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has risen to fifth place on the all-time scorers list for the Argentina national team.
In the World Cup-2026 qualifying match against Venezuela (3:0), the 28-year-old player scored a goal, marking his 33rd in the national team jersey. Thus, Lautaro surpassed Diego Maradona (32 goals) and took sole fifth place on the Argentina national team scorers list.
It is worth noting that Martinez required 71 matches to achieve this result, while Maradona scored 32 goals in 84 matches.
