Myroslav Stupar: "It’s a hundred percent penalty"

FIFA referee Myroslav Stupar commented on the awarded and then canceled penalty for Vladyslav Vanat in the match Azerbaijan — Ukraine.

— It’s a hundred percent penalty. An elementary foul, the opponent pulled Vanat by the shoulder while he was at speed. I’m surprised that the referee changed his decision after reviewing VAR. What can you say — it’s a scandalous decision.

There’s now a term called insufficient contact. This, apparently, is something the officials came up with to justify their decisions. How is it insufficient contact? Vanat is gaining speed, entering the penalty area, and he’s simply pulled by the shoulder, causing him to lose coordination — Stupar concluded.
