Oleg Fedorchuk: "The leaders of Dynamo led the team nowhere near where the owners and fans wanted"

Renowned Ukrainian coach and expert Oleg Fedorchuk commented on the summer transfers out of Dynamo and Shakhtar.

— Both Shakhtar and Dynamo have already failed in the European season, as they were eliminated from the Champions League and the Europa League. If the team cannot achieve sports results with these players in the squad, and they are still being paid for, it’s better to sell them. Sudakov should have been sold last year when the miners were playing in the Champions League. Then it would have been possible to get more for him. As for Kevin, it’s the perfect transfer: buy a player for 12 million euros and sell him for 42 after a year.

The situation in Dynamo is worse. Financial difficulties could be compensated if the team played in the Champions League. But the Kyiv team was eliminated in the least financially interesting tournament. Despite the fact that some players (Popov, Shaparenko, Vanat, Brazhko) are called leaders, they led the team nowhere near where the owners and fans wanted. Therefore, selling all of them would be logical. I don’t think their departure will affect the team’s results in any way. But once again — players should have been sold last year when they were worth more. In their place, other players could have been bought, and I think by now we would have had a much more interesting Dynamo, — said Fedorchuk.
