On Saturday, September 13, in the match of the 5th round of the Ukrainian championship, Kyiv's Dynamo drew 2:2 in the capital derby against Obolon. The match took place in Kyiv at the Obolon Arena. Here is the post-match press conference of the head coach of the capital team, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy.
- What happened to your team in the last 15 minutes of the match?
- We agreed with the guys on what we should do on the football field and how to do it. But first of all, I want to say that I noticed some lack of readiness before the game and mentioned it to the team just before going out on the field, before the start of the game. But despite everything, we had great opportunities to score goals today, we should have realized those moments, but mistakes in decision-making, as well as a mistake made in defense in one of the last minutes led to us losing very important points.
- Only one of the four Dynamo newcomers, who were in the match squad, debuted today. Did you plan for other newcomers to play under a different scenario?
- You can plan anything, but football is an unpredictable game. The players who were available to us prepared for the match. I always tell my players that when they go out on the field, they must show their level and take responsibility for it. If you do not do this, you will watch from the bench, as others do.
You can plan anything, but the match makes its own adjustments.
In conclusion, I want to say the following. In the last match, we honored the memory of 58 fallen heroes who supported Dynamo. Unfortunately, this number is increasing: today we learned that two more Dynamo fans have died. We remember each of them. And we are grateful to them and their families.
Wishing everyone a quiet, peaceful, and calm evening. Glory to Ukraine!
