Ivan Juric: “Lookman is a top-level player, but we are all convinced that Atalanta needs human values”

Atalanta’s head coach Ivan Juric commented on the situation with the team’s winger Ademola Lookman, who refuses to play for the Bergamo club after his transfer to Inter fell through.

“All matches are difficult. I expect a tough, very active game from all points of view. Ademola will not be ready for this meeting. This is really an unpleasant and difficult situation. As a coach, I feel that we need other things: spirit, humility, a sense of the club. We have to do better and take responsibility. A sense of belonging is needed.

We are Atalanta and we must represent the city: with humility, hard work, regardless of the result. There needs to be a clear understanding of things, and then it becomes clear that Lookman is a top-level player, but we are all convinced that Atalanta needs human values. I have a great relationship with him, but I shouldn’t have to ask anyone to play,” Juric is quoted by Football Italia.
