The goalkeeper of Obolon became the third goalkeeper-assist provider in the Ukrainian championship in the 2025/2026 season

For the fourth time in 2025 and the third (!) time in five rounds of the 2025/2026 season, a goalkeeper of the UPL club has made an assist in a match of the Ukrainian championship.

This is already a trend, and it would be interesting to hear an explanation from experts. Especially since until 2025, the last time a goalkeeper provided an assist was in May 2019.

This round’s hero was Nazarij Fedorivskyi, whose free-kick contribution in injury time led to Denis Ustymentko’s goal, who headed the ball into the net of Dynamo’s goal, securing a draw for Obolon (2:2).

Interestingly, during the same period (since the 2018/19 season), goalkeepers have provided assists in all top-5 championships. The most in England (22), the least in Spain (5). The undisputed leader in this nomination is Ederson (Manchester City), who made six assists, half of which were in the last season.
