The presidential candidate of Benfica, Cristiano Carvalho, stated that he wants to see the German specialist Jürgen Klopp at the helm of the team.
The official candidly noted that if elected as the new president of Benfica, he does not plan to continue cooperation with the current coach Bruno Lage.
"Lage will not remain after the contract ends. I need a world-class coach who has already won the Champions League and wants to do it with Benfica. I see only one name — Jürgen Klopp," Carvalho was quoted by Bild.
Furthermore, the elections for the new president of Benfica are scheduled for October.
