The head coach of Kyiv’s Dynamo U-19 Ihor Kostiuk commented on his team’s victory over Oleksandriya U-19 in the match of the youth championship of Ukraine.
— I am satisfied with the result of the match, but the quality of play leaves much to be desired. We played well, adapted well, but when finishing attacks, where there was a lot of space, we didn’t handle the ball very well, we couldn’t create more goal-scoring opportunities to score two or three more goals in the first half. Although there was a lot of space, we lacked skill. We will work on this.
—Your team scored the first two goals after set-pieces. Is this something that is worked on during training?
— There are zones where the ball needs to be delivered and there are zones where players need to run into. In this moment, all players ran into their zones, there was a good pass, and we scored a goal. The second goal from the free-kick was individual skill. There are players who can execute set-pieces like that. It’s good that Redushko came on as a substitute. He had a goal and an assist today.
—Some players have returned to the squad after injuries. What is the current squad situation, can you rely on all the players?
— Gradually, we are giving them playing time. Redushko and Andrei ko have returned after serious injuries, Osypenko is coming back after a minor injury. We will gradually give them more load, more playing time, since these are players we rely on, who should be key and play a vital role in our orchestra.
