As already reported, the Greek club Panathinaikos is considering the appointment of Ukraine national team coach Sergey Rebrov following the dismissal of their head coach Rui Vitória. However, it turns out that the candidacy of the Ukrainian specialist is not the only one.
According to in.gr, the management of Panathinaikos has already agreed with Rebrov on the format of possible cooperation, but as the main alternative, the Greek club is considering the Dutchman Mark van Bommel, who has been unemployed since last summer and, unlike the Ukrainian specialist, can start working right now. Moreover, it is reported that at the moment, van Bommel has come to the forefront for Panathinaikos.
Finally, the Greeks are also considering a third candidate — the head coach of Brazilian club Palmeiras Abel Ferreira, whose contract with his current club expires in December of this year, and discussions about extending the agreement have not yet taken place.
