The General Director of «Dynamo» Dmytro Brif stated how much «Dynamo» would receive from Ilya Zabarnyi’s transfer from «Bournemouth» to PSG.
— When Ilya Zabarnyi moved to «PSG», everyone started calculating how much «Dynamo» would get from this.
— Everyone started calculating and no one reached out to us. It was interesting to watch this discussion. Everyone calculated differently. Some figures were somewhat far off, while others were a bit higher. But if we talk about specific numbers, let’s calculate.
We received 27.7 million pounds from «Bournemouth». This is directly for the player transfer. It’s about 32 million euros — we converted it. Additionally, we will receive 20% of the profit — meaning, the difference between what «Bournemouth» will receive and what they paid us. This is approximately another 5.6 million euros.
On top of all this, we will also receive a payment through the solidarity mechanism. The scheme is very simple. When a paid transfer of a player occurs, 5% of the compensation amount must be distributed among all clubs that were involved in the player’s training.
Ilya moved from us at the age of 21. We claim approximately 3.5% of the total amount. This is a bit over 2 million euros. In total, we received about 40 million euros from the sale of Zabarnyi.
— Has «Dynamo» already received its share from the transfer to «PSG»?
— This is related to the payments that PSG will make to «Bournemouth». So, this payment isn’t something that came today. If I’m not mistaken, it’s divided over three years. Of course, we would be happy, but that’s not how it works. PSG and Bournemouth have agreed on their own payment schedule. Accordingly, our right to receive funds is also tied to these payments.
We are proud and keep track of the achievements of all our players who have been involved in the club to some degree. Especially those who are our graduates from childhood. That’s why we have 3.5% here, because he went through the entire journey at «Dynamo». No other club was involved in his training.
