Former FIFA referee Miroslav Stupar believes that in yesterday’s match of the 8th round of the Ukrainian championship between Kyiv’s Dynamo and Kharkiv’s Metalist 1925 (1:1), a penalty should have been awarded against the visiting team for a foul on the midfielder of the “white and blues” Vitalii Buyalsky.
“Referee Viktor Kopievsky missed many fouls by players from both teams. The key moment was in the 22nd minute when Kyiv player Buyalsky was struck on the ankle by Kharkiv’s Ivan Litvinenko in the penalty area.
It was an obvious foul, and the guests should have been punished with a penalty. However, for some reason, Kopievsky did not react to this foul. Referee VAR Andrii Kovalenko also remained silent for unknown reasons. This is a crucial mistake by the referee,” said Stupar.
