Conte: “This season will be the most challenging for us because we are playing in the Champions League”

The head coach of Napoli, Antonio Conte, shared his thoughts on the current season after the victory over Genoa (2:1) in the match of the 6th round of the Italian championship.

“We are embarking on a completely unknown path. As I keep saying, this will be the most challenging season for us because we need to play in the Champions League, and last year we did not compete in any other tournament, not even a minor cup.

I did not have a squad that was properly structured to meet these commitments. Compared to other teams that are well-tested and structured, with a well-established mechanism that has been perfected over many years, we find ourselves in an entirely new situation with a group of players who, as I continuously repeat, had a very limited squad last year.

When you have nine new players, it means that time and patience are needed. Moreover, many of them may not be ready yet. They still need to pick up speed and fit into a certain dynamic,” Conte was quoted by TuttoNapoli.
